CAT-III / CAT-IV Inspections: MHE Engineers are extremely experienced in providing structural API RP 4G Category III or Category IV inspections as required. Our inspectors have had global experience in inspecting drilling structures. The CAT inspections depending on location are typically conducted in two phases. An initial inspection where the corrective actions are documented and provided to the client. On completion MHE provide a final inspection where a certificate is then provided for client records.
Pre-Drill: 3rd party rig inspections or Pre-drill/hire inspections are conducted prior to hiring a rig to ensure it meets the following requirements:
1. It is in an acceptable operational condition.
2. It meets a client’s required specifications.
3. It is suitable to start drilling operations.
This helps to minimize downtime and ensures the safety systems are operational.
Drilling contractors may wish to have a Rig inspection for internal review or for planning pre yard maintenance works and refurbishments.
